London, Mrs. Prita Kemal Gani the President of APRN and also the Regional Delegates at Large of Asia for The Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management attended the GA Board Meeting in London, United Kingdom on the 2nd – 3rd December of 2017.
One of the agenda for the meeting was to discuss the global code of ethics for the public relations and communication profession. When founded in July 2002, the first GA task force focused on ethics and in February 2003, the GA’s executive board approved the first Global Code of Ethics. Once ratified, all members of the alliance had to certify that their own code of ethics met the global standard.
In 2015, the GA began a review of the existing code. However, due to changes such as new development of technology, some of the code needs to be replace or updated. Members of associations attended a workshop in Milan 2015 to discuss the review and updates of the global code of ethics.
