Dear APRN Members & Friends,
It’s been almost 9 months since we began our battle with the worst health issue in our lifetime. This pandemic has caused a significant disruption and hardship in nearly every aspect of our lives, and it will take time to heal the damage that has been done. Road to Recovery remains a blurr especially for those who have been hit really hard and even lost their lives.
In this Pandemic, everyone has played a crucial role in absorbing the shock but further efforts still need to be taken, by our family, community and as a nation. And I quote the father of medicine Hippocrates; “Healing is a matter of time, but it is sometimes also a matter of opportunity.” I believe strongly as one community in ASEAN we will take and grab every opportunity given to us during this time.
It is this spirit of global togetherness that will always give us hope. During this pandemic, we have all become true neighbours in the region and success can only be achieved when all of us are protected and protecting each other. We have seen that this shared sense of responsibility for each other has pulled us together in more ways than we could ever have imagined and there are examples everywhere not only in our region but all over the world.
One thing is certain, there will be many lessons learned once this is all over. And each of us has our own takeaway lessons, to some COVID has been a sort of reset for the world for our planet and our lifetime and has forced us to look at life as part of any other species on this planet; we are all vulnerable.
Amidst all the difficulties and uncertainties let us continue to endure, and try to find comfort in the many stories of hope and solidarity, let us continue to see the value of every positive, and the encouraging lessons that are emerging for our post pandemic life…
Thank you very much. Praying for each and everyone’s good health and safety.
Best regards,
Prita Kemal Gani, MBA. MCIPR, APR
