Kuching, April 13, Dato’ Haji Ibrahim Abdul Rahman – Director General of Information Ministry of Communication and Multimedia launched IPRM’s Sarawak Chapter and CHALK 11 at Sarawak Energy, Kuching Malaysia attended by PR professionals, PR consultants, and students of University Malaysia Sarawak.
Ms. Gesille Sedra Buot the Managing Director of ASEAN Public Relations Network also delivered a presentation about APRN to the audience. The audience also warmly welcomed APRN and paid interest in the presentation.

Dato’ Haji Ibrahim who is also the President of Public Relations Malaysia expecting the Public Relations Profession Bill to be tabled in Parliament next year. He said it is important for the bill to pass in parliament for public relations to be recognized as a professional career and be recognized for its important role in nation building.
He said with the availability of social media today public relations practitioners need to be more professional in discharging their duties, adopt and adjust to the requirements of the organization they were representing.
He urged more young people to join the public relations fraternity and to equip themselves with sufficient knowledge so as to be more competent in meeting new and challenging benchmarks in the fast lane of the new age information communication and technology.
