Friday, July 22, 2016, 14.00 – 16.00, Centre For ASEAN Public Relations Studies (CAPRS) in cooperation with the ASEAN Public Relations Network (APRN) presented ASEAN Talks event. ASEAN Talks is a monthly activity held at the Research Centre Prof. Margono, Floor 2, Campus C-LSPR Jakarta. Jl. KH Mas Mansyur Kav 35, Tanah Abang. This event also supported by Directorate of ASEAN Functional Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.

In ASEAN Talks #3 which was delivered on “The Power of Managing Reputation” with speakers: Mr. Benny Butarbutar, Vice President Corporate Communications Garuda Indonesia and Mr. Edhy Aruman, Executive Editor of MIX Magazine Marcomm. ASEAN Talks also explained how to maintain a reputation as Top Brand Airlines in ASEAN that is sustainable, and the Do’s and Don’ts of Reputation Management.

Yuliana Riana P, MM as Head of CAPRS and Director of Research and Publication APRN, says that based on results through documentation study in 2016, Garuda Indonesia reached the position of The World Top 6 Airline and The World Top 1 Best Airline Cabin Crew. This is a remarkable achievement for Garuda Indonesia in particular and pride for the people of Indonesia. This success answers public concerns in facing the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). Indonesia is not just the biggest market in ASEAN but of superior quality that can compete not only in ASEAN but also globally.

Benny Butarbutar says that challenge for reputation management nowadays is 1) Regulation & Policy, 2) Public Behaviour, 3) Global Economic Challenge, 4)Digital Media Trends and 5) Media Environment. Benny Butarbutar also added that the reputation is not build overnight, but reputation is a track record of our lifetime.

In ASEAN Talks #3 , ASEAN Public Relations Network (APRN) awarded a certificate of APRN Membership in Company Category to Mr. Benny Butarbutar as Vice President of Corporate Communication Garuda Indonesia Airlines. The membership benefit of APRN is networking with professionals in the communication industry all over South-East Asia region, access to ASEAN PR Directory, and an opportunity to promote events on APRN website, etc.
