Jakarta – 8 August 2018, The Representative of ASEAN Network was invited to attend the launch of eMpowering Youths Across ASEAN Programmes at the ASEAN Secretariat Jakarta.
The eMpowering Youths Across ASEAN is a partnership programme between Maybank Foundation and the ASEAN Foundation which aims to equip and inspire youths from all 10 ASEAN Member States (AMS) to be a positive force for change by providing a platform to learn, contribute, and advocate solutions to developmental issues.
The program seeks to identify 100 entrepreneurial – minded individuals between the ages of 19 to 35 years old from across the ASEAN region to take part in a 1 – week intensive capacity building workshop and orientation workshops to receive necessary knowledge and skills to develop and implement impactful community based-programmes. Following the workshops, all youths will be deployed in selected community areas starting with Cambodia, Indonesia and Malaysia for 2 weeks, where they will begin their 1-year journey of creating and implementing initiatives that can give long lasting social and economic impact to the communities. During the course of the programme, Maybank Foundation and the ASEAN Foundation will closely monitor the progress of each initiative, providing consistent and continuous mentorship to all youths
