ASEAN PUBLIC RELATIONS NETWORK (APRN) in Association with the GLOBAL ALLIANCE and LSPR Institute of COMMUNICATION AND BUSINESS hold the STUDIUM GENERALE with Association PR Leaders on 4th November 2022 at The Amani Palladium Theatre, LSPR Transpark Juanda, Bekasi. Inviting three notable speakers overseas and participants from LSPR Undergraduate Programme Students majoring in Public Relations, Marketing Communication and other majors as well as the lecturers.
The conference started with a welcome speech from Dr. Janette M. Pinariya, M.M, Vice Rector I, LSPR Institute of Communication & Business. Followed by an Opening Remarks from Dr. (H.C.) Prita Kemal Gani, MBA, MCIPR, APR, Founder & CEO, LSPR Institute of Communication & Business and President of ASEAN PR Network.
The session was started with a presentation by Mr. Justin Green, Hon. Life Fellow APRA, Hon. Life Fellow PRSK, Life Fellow PRII, Hon. Life Fellow ABERJE, Hon. Life Fellow ASEAN, Hon. Life Fellow PRGC, Hon. Life Fellow EIC, Hon. Life Fellow SCCECRL, Hon. Life Fellow APCE, Hon. Life Fellow PIC, Hon. Life Fellow TPRA, Hon. Life Fellow FERPI, Hon. Life Fellow ARPPR, President & CEO of the Global Alliance for PR & Communication Management. Continued with the second session from Ms. Fiona Cassidy, APR, FPRINZ, LPRINZ, Past Chair of the PR Institute of New Zealand and finished with the third session from Mr. Harold Geronimo, APR, President of the PR Society of the Philippines.
Dr. (H.C.) Prita Kemal Gani stated that “Why we need to learn Public Relations? It’s because Public Relations is in every line of business, whether education, hotel, or entertainment all of that need Public Relations. Not only for business, Public Relations is also needed for your own personal branding.”
Justin Green President & CEO (Ireland) Global Alliance Board shared; how excited he is to be back in the Region. Especially here in Jakarta where he feels like it is his second home, together with his family at LSPR and ASEAN PR Network; given the opportunity again to speak and share with the students and colleagues from the International PR Associations and with other PR World Leaders who was also invited to speak on stage this weekend!
“It’s very timely we are all speaking here at LSPR, where PR excellence and global standard has always been imparted to its students. So proud to be working with the best leading communication and business school in the region. We are looking forward to more face to face meetings and talks; as we leap ahead of what has stopped us all during the last 3 years long haul of Covid Pandemic!” Said Mr. Justin Green.
Fiona Cassidy (New Zealand) Global Alliance Board Secretary says it is excellent to be back in Jakarta and have the opportunity to share the stage with international PR world leaders. Fiona says, “We all bring different skills and experiences culturally, economically and socially and by sharing our knowledge we continue to learn and develop. We have chosen a profession where strategy, currency of knowledge and content underpin what we do. It’s appropriate we are presenting here at LSPR, an institution committed to excellence for all students. Face-to-face communication remains important and the Studium Generale event is a great opportunity to learn from international leaders and students alike. I’m looking forward to add to my knowledge basket and, of course, meeting fellow attendees.”
Mr. Harold also said that “Culture IMPACTS EVERYTHING, even the way you do PR. With the goal of know what PR strategy suits your culture best. It also has some rule such as different strokes for different folks, be conscious of religion, race, and politics, and watch your language. Therefore, your PR strategies should blend well with the culture of your audience.”
Furthermore, during the event Mr. Justin Green the President & CEO of the Global Alliance for PR & Communication Management presented a Global Icon Award to Dr. (H.C.) Prita Kemal Gani, MBA, MCIPR, APR as a grateful recognition for Dr. Prita enduring commitment and visionary guidance in unifying the Public Relations and Communication profession worldwide. He also mentioned that Dr. (H.C) Prita Kemal Gani is the first female to received the award.
Other than the studium generale that has been presented by the three speakers. LSPR also did MOA Signing Ceremony for the Joint Partnership Programme between LSPR Institute of Communication & Business with the Megaworld Corporation. Mr. Harold Geronimo, APR as the Megaworld Corporation Vice President for Public Relations and Media Affairs has come to sign the MOA along with Dr. (H.C.) Prita Kemal Gani, MBA, MCIPR, APR as the Founder & CEO, LSPR Institute of Communication & Business, Ms. Yuliana R. Prasetyawati, MM. as the Dean for Faculty of Business Studies and Mr. Mikhael Yulius Cobis, M.Si, MM as the Dean for Faculty of Communication Studies.
