Jakarta, 30th July 2020: ASEAN PR Network held its fourth live webinar through Zoom as part of APRN’s webinar series; Public Relations Diaries with the topic “Global Capability Framework for Public Relations & Communication Management Learn from the Experts”. It was hosted by President of ASEAN PR Network and also the Founder & CEO of LSPR Communication and Business Institute, Mrs. Prita Kemal Gani, MBA, MCIPR, APR. The webinar speakers were Ms. Marcia DiStaso, Ph.D. – Associate Professor and Chair Department of Public Relations, University of Florida – USA, Ms. Silvina Seiguer – Director of Corporate Communications, Arcos Dorados – Argentina, Ms. Mandy Pearse MBA, FCIPR – President-Elect (2020), Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) and Director of Seashell Communications – UK and the webinar was open to the public.
Global Capability Framework for PR and Communication Management is a very important tool for professional development from the experts, practitioners, academicians and professionals on all national and global levels as it provides a basis to develop Key PR capabilities. It reflects cultural and regional varieties in PR as a profession. Definitely there will be some differences in creating standards in every country, but with the Global Capability Framework we can learn from each other and enhance what can be adopted for our improvement. Public Relations is global and the better we understand the global framework the better we will be in our profession as PR practitioners. With all 3 categories in the framework, there should always be a balance in Communication Capabilities, Organizational Capabilities and Professional Capabilities, as these 3 have a crucial role for each other.
