ASEAN Public Relations Network (APRN) held their Annual General Meeting on 15 October 2018 at LSPR Renon Bali Campus, Raya Puputan Street no 140 (Renon), Sumerta Kelod, Denpasar, Bali. This event was attended by APRN board members and representatives of Public Relations Institute of Australia (PRIA) to discuss the financial reports and evaluation of APRN activities, as well as discussions on plans for programs to be carried out in the coming year. APRN and PRIA also discussed the Public Relations competency standards in ASEAN which can be used and recognized in ASEAN and Australia.

This annual general meeting was opened by Prita Kemal Gani as President of the ASEAN PR Network and Director & Founder of LSPR Jakarta. Dato Haji Ibrahim Abdul Rahman as President of the Malaysian Institute of Public Relations, Director General of Department of Information Malaysia, Ramon Osorio as Former PR President of the Society of the Philippines, Former VP / Head of Corporate Communications of ABS-CBN Philippine, Managing Director Bao Nguyen Quoc Director of PR International Organization of Vietnam, Nutthaboon Pornrattanacharoen as representative of Thailand PR Association, Gesille Buot as Managing Director of ASEAN PR Network, Jennifer Muir as Former President of the Public Relations Institute of Australia and ASEAN Public Relations Network Committee were also present as participants of the annual general meeting.

Furthermore, APRN and LSPR Bali also held a discussion forum with PR leaders from ASEAN countries and Australia on October 16, 2018 at LSPR Bali on the topic “Public Relations Strategies and Tactics in the Digital Age”. There were three session; a panel discussion with the speakers who are Ramon Osorio as Former President of PR Society of the Philippines, Former VP / Head of Corporate Communications of ABS-CBN Philippine, second speaker Dato Haji Ibrahim Abdul Rahman, President of the Malaysian PR Institute, Former Director General of Ministry of Information – Malaysia and the third speaker was Bao Nguyen Quo, Managing Director of PR Organization International Vietnam for the first session. The three speakers discussed PR Strategies and Tactics in Digital Age. The second session’s topic was “Disruptive Innovation: Challenges and Opportunities in PR” by Nutthaboon Pornrattanacharoon, a representative from the Thailand PR Association. After that, the workshop ended with Jennifer Muir – Former President of the PR Institute of Australia who spoke about “Bridging Strong Ties Relationship Between Australia and ASEAN”.
